MTX is definitely problem only because it's fucking advertised to hell and in your face 24/7. they recognized the problem and promised to do better, but it seems like a lot hasn't changed. And Jagex preys HEAVILY on those that have it with MTX as well. There's too much PREDATORY PRACTISES, FOMO and CLUTTER in the game relating to MTX updates. The employees might care, but they can't do shit when their jobs wouldn't exist without the MTX. Rant Wednesday is a monthly thread for exactly what you might think it's for. Too many people are stuck in the early 2000s when xp was hard to get, skills maxed out at 50k xp/hr, and getting 99s was a huge accomplishment. A good example of this is the Treasure Hunter activity in rs3 where you can buy 'keys' for irl money and unlock chests for a chance at resources, coins and most importantly, exp. MTX is always a tradeoff between game integrity and player count vs. Option 2: Create a new type of highscores for players who don't use MTX. Personally I do not mind it at all and actually enjoy it.
